Another success story for an Excel/IMTA alumni!

Drew Carr goes SAG

I spoke with the Carr's this morning and they had some very exciting news! Drew just landed a guest-starring role on Criminal Minds, a new CBS forensic-science primetime. Drew will also be SAG as a result of this job, the studio will Taft-Hartley Drew so that he will be cleared to play the role of a seven year old-southern character on an upcoming episode. This is Drew's first big break after completing Excel's film and television program in 2004. In January of 2005, Drew competed at IMTA where he placed in every competition that he competed in including Young Male Talent of the Year. After Drew's success at IMTA, the Carr family decided to make the big move. They settled in the Glendora area of California. Unhappy with their L.A. talent management, Drew recently made the switch to their current manager, Teri Snell of Talent Inc. Teri is a long time friend of Excel and an avid IMTA attendee. Encouragingly enough however, Drew received his management the good old-fashioned way; he sent out mass-mail outs. Andree, Drew's mom, said "Some agents and managers gave us a response and others nothing; we went with Terri with whom we felt most comfortable!" Teri's management company is known for their small but talented client list. Criminal Minds was Drew's first audition while under Talent Inc. And subsequently Drew's first booked job! Can you imagine how ecstatic Teri was with her newly signed client! I was so very proud while listening to Andree and Drew talk excitedly about the job, Drew's table read which is scheduled for this afternoon, and the exciting management news, but honestly; their wonderful news didn't surprise me at all. Drew was one of my best students, he is killer in auditions and he just has an amazing charm about him. Not only is he an amazingly committed actor but he is also an outstanding singer and performer. I say, "Look out Haley Joel Ozment, here comes Drew Carr!"-Danielle Davis

*Criminal Minds can be seen on CBS, Wednesday nights at 9:00. I will post as soon as we hear when exactly Drew's episode is due to air.

WAY TO GO DREW!!!!!!! We are so proud of you and for you. Sorry we couldn't get in touch with ya last month when I was out there visiting Melissa Tucker, we'll try again this month. Britnee would love to see ya. Keep praying mom!!!! The sky is the limit if God is in it. WHEW HEW!!!!!!!!
